Every Friday, hundreds of bloggers and myself join Lisa Jo Baker at her blog for a five minute writing challenge (for lack of a better word). We can let down our hair in this post, be us without the formality of a regular weekly post. Lisa provides the prompt and all we need to do is write about it for five minutes – no backspace, no spell check (
though I secretly do, darn cat-out-of-bag), no trying to organize thoughts in a particular way.
This week our word prompt is: TOGETHER.
Five minutes – Ready. Set. Go.
I enjoy times of peace and quiet. Being alone with my kitties and the regular hum of my house. It’s relaxing and a lot soothing.
But, being together with the ones I love – now that is my cup of tea!
Together means a lot of things. It means we laugh, we talk, sometimes yell, and always love. There are many people in this place that I like to be together with – sometimes I’d like to wrap them up and take them everywhere with me!
There are different emotions and feelings that come from the silence and from the together – each unique, totally necessary, and on purpose. Alone I feel a soul-type of peace, like when I’m in prayer with the Lord. Together I feel a peace that comes from the union of hearts beating for the common purpose – life given by our Creator. It really calls for rejoicing! And I know my joy dances just a little in the together. It keeps me young and happy.
Together is love, and of these the greatest is love. Who could ask for more?
Come and sit a spell, read some of the other amazing words that come from five minutes of focused writing.
